October 2009: Herban Lifestyle Receives Green America Seal of Approval

Herban Lifestyle™ Will Exhibit at Green Festival™ in Washington, DC October 11 & 12, 2009

FALLS CHURCH, VA (May 31, 2009) – This month, the handcrafted, all-natural bath and body

product company Herban Lifestyle, LLC was awarded the Green America Seal of Approval and is

now listed in Green America’s National Green Pages™ directory. The Seal is awarded to

businesses that have successfully completed an extensive screening process, which determines

whether they qualify as a socially and environmentally responsible business.

Green America's Green Business Program acts as a network that provides the resources and

assistance necessary to encourage and maintain socially and environmentally responsible

businesses across the country. The Seal and the network allows for consumers to consciously chose

businesses that are actively working to protect the environment.

According to the organization’s website, Green America looks for businesses that “adopt

principles, policies, and practices that improve the quality of life for their customers, their

employees, communities, and the environment.” Herban Lifestyle™ has successfully met all the

organization’s criteria.

Herban Lifestyle’s owner and developer, Mary Kearns, PhD., makes a concerted effort to

implement sustainable practices in the running of her company, including offsetting the company’s

carbon footprint and use of green telecommunications services.

In addition, 5% of Herban Lifestyle’s gross revenues are donated to charity, including Feeding

America (formerly America’s Second Harvest), Sierra Club, Herb Research Foundation, and

Martha’s Table.

Kearns will also be exhibiting Herban Lifestyle™ products at Washington, DC’s Green FestivalTM

taking place October 11 & 12, 2009. The event is a joint effort by Green America and Global

Exchange and celebrates individuals and organizations working toward a greener world.
